This book is my all time favorite stories. The retelling brings the story to life, with detailed descriptions of characters and is extremely accurate to the original. It is written in an older style, with the old English names of characters. I think everyone should read this book once in their life, because it is inspiring and engaging. The book tells multiple stories, all relating to King Arthur and his knights. Although this book is fiction, Ackroyd's retelling brings the story to life and makes the reader truly believe King Arthur really existed.

This book is perfect for young adults who love learning about the Tudor era, as it is told from multiple perspectives and contains multiple stories of Henry VIII's young queens. It is written in 1st person, and as a result, the writing immerses the reader in the plot. Although this book is fiction, it is historically accurate and is an extremely interesting read. I recommend this book to other teenagers especially, but also to anyone who has read The Six Wives of Henry VIII by Alison Weir, as this book unintentionally acts as the partner to Fatal Throne.

More of a teen romance novel than anything else, this book is entertaining for its female teenage audience, and while it is not very historically accurate, it is fairly interesting to read. I would not recommend to someone who wants to read an informative book about Lady Jane Grey, especially because her story is extremely romanticized in the book; however, I would recommend to any teenager who wants to read a cute, medieval-era romance novel.

Date of Publication: 1987
A well known fantasy book based off of the legend of King Arthur, T.H White successfully immerses the reader in the Arthurian times, the perfect recounting of a centuries old legend filled with castles, wizards, knights, and beasts. If someone were looking for a classic medieval fantasy novel, The Once and Future King would be the perfect book. The Once and Future King is an adventure book that perfectly encapsulates the comforting and almost stereotypical image of the medieval times and is both funny, engaging and at some points sad. I recommend this book to any reader, as it is the perfect gateway into becoming immersed in the medieval time period.

One of Alison Weir's first forays into fiction, Anne Boleyn: A King's Obsession provides an insider's look into Anne Boleyn's life from a fiction perspective. The fiction side of the story creates a more fantastical, romanticized version of the familiar story of Anne Boleyn's life as Henry VIII's second and arguably most notorious, wife. I enjoyed reading this book just as much as Alison Weir's other publications, but more so because of her ability to write such an informative, engaging fictional story. Previously I was more familiar with her nonfiction books, so reading her fictional was a welcome change. I wouldn't consider myself a person who normally enjoys historical fiction but because of Weir's ability to write such interesting and informative nonfiction I was willing to take a chance on her fiction publications. I would recommend this book to any of Alison Weir's readers as a fresh perspective on Anne Boleyn's life and to anyone who has a particular fascination with any of Henry VIII's wives, as she has written a book about all six.
